The Wedding Ceremony Process

First, the legal stuff

• You must be of marriageable age
• You must not be in a prohibited relationship
• You must not already be married to someone else
• You must both be consenting
• You must give a minimum of 1 month notice or a maximum of 18 months to marry via Notice of Intended Marriage [NOIM] - I will prepare this for you to sign

Next, the paperwork

STEP 1: LODGE YOUR NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE

If you decide that you would like me to officiate your ceremony, I then ask you to complete my booking form. This will provide all the legal details so I can prepare the Notice of Intended Marriage form.

STEP 2: SIGNING & SIGHTING DOCUMENTS

We will arrange a time to meet and sign the Notice of Intended Marriage. I will ask you to bring along the following documents for me to sight:

• Birth Certificate or Passport
• Documentation showing your current residential address
• Evidence of how last marriage ended (if applicable)

Payment in full, which includes a non-refundable deposit of 50%, is required at this point. Please let me know if you would like to discuss payment plan options. 

Now all the legal paperwork is out of the way, we can start creating your perfect wedding ceremony! 

STEP 3: CREATING YOUR PERFECT CEREMONY

This is the fun and creative part where I get to know all the nitty gritty details about you, your partner and your relationship that go into crafting the perfect ceremony. 

STEP 4: THE WEDDING CEREMONY 

It is time for you to enjoy what you have been planning and waiting for.   

• I will arrive on time and approximately 30 minutes before the ceremony
• I will be appropriately dressed for the occasion
• I will meet with you to coordinate entrances and to make sure everyone is ready
• I will provide a signing table and chairs (dependent on package selected)
• I will provide the newly weds with a Commonwealth Official Marriage Certificate

Soon after the ceremony I will lodge your marriage documents with NT Births, Deaths and Marriages. If you are considering a name change, I will provide an additional Name Change Guide to help you with this process.
